Accordions and flutes...that's where it's at.
If I went on a date with either one of these guys my clothes would be off by the end of these songs. HA!

The ‘Up’ Kid In Real Life

Come Perry Farrel kneel before Zoz

So, I've been going through my notebook/folder for my little project. Not only do I love reading my own stuff but I love reading what other write about me.  This is why blogging is great.  It's a place where people who THINK they are special and unique can post things about themselves and what they find interesting or humorous.  However, in reality no one actually cares.  It's a good alternative to putting a picture of myself on my dresser with candles around it and praying in front of it.

Upon further reflection I have come to the conclusion that cute personified is not quite the most accurate description of what she is.  Certainly ennui-challenged is appropriate, and there is no denying cuteness.  In what limited capacity I have known her I would say the Zoz experience is not one that exudes cuteness however, but rather one of a varying sort--layered through complex facets and winding tunnels all leading to the much sought after center of the labyrinth.

Bunnies are cute, kittens and puppies and koala bears.  Babies are cute, except the ugly ones.  Rainbow Bright and Strawberry Shortcake were cute.  The Zoz is something else.  She is what we all thought Punky Brewster would have grown up to become, or a non bull-lesbian version of Jo from the Facts of Life.  She embodies individuality without the faux alterNative unoriginality which plagues most ‘eccentrics’ softly and silently banging their head against apparent conformity.  She is the one laughing at the joke whispered by the birds as they circle potential balding targets at the market square,  the one dancing in the torrential rain to a song only heard by the staggering trees, the one the sun bows to on the most sweltering of days.

That is not to say she is without fault or flaw—we all have our kryptonite, even those whom Superman could not defeat.  But her frailty is an internal struggle, the likes of which most have not even the capacity to experience much less endure.  Her weakness is what Plato referred to affectionately as the internal conflict, a condition where man (or woman) struggles to find solace within the confines of their own mind.  It is a journey of self study and introspection, the kind only those astute enough to recognize their fragile humanity can embark on.  Many of us have been on this journey, even more still on it.  She like most has yet to find her place in that passage.  Alas such is the life of the cerebral wanderer.

I need this. haha!

Sustainability isn't about the quick fix or the cheap solution. Generally it means making a commitment and trying, as best we can, to honor it. In any worthwhile enterprise, from protecting the environment to preserving a relationship, we are going to encounter difficulties. The good life is not a problem-free life. In point of fact, the process of overcoming adversity often produces some of the most rewarding experiences we will ever have. Human beings need to be challenged to 'test their mettle,' as it were. Throwing in the towel at the first sign of trouble or small inkling of distress may be the easy thing to do, but it doesn't help our self-concept. Most of life's troubles can be overcome if we are willing to work through them with patience.
